A Small Knock

The Wood is small enough to be known by walking and gentle enough that no place feels too far from another. Here, a knock does not travel into the unknown, but into a nearness already felt, where a friend is never far away, only just out of sight, turning towards the sound.
In such a place, welcome is not an event but a condition, quietly waiting, so that even the smallest approach is met with recognition, and the door, when it opens, feels less like an arrival and more like a return.
